LEARN ABOUT THIS FAITHFUL ACCOUNT OF NECOCLIOctober 23, 2017
Alejandro is an Anthropologist, multimedia producer and visual artist. He is currently based in New York City (US). He has extensive experience in ethnographic research, digital content, visual arts, documentary film production and programing, and communications. He has worked freelance for more 7 years between Bogotá, NYC, and Berlin.
Alejandro landed in the dense Uraba jungle straight out of Zooyork (commonly known as NYC) to undertake a 4 month visual ethnography fieldwork. He came to live as a local, set out to establish good relationships with people so he could portray in a faithful manner the way of life of locals, learn from them their notions about the region, and document the unique scenery.
We found in him a very able partner: not only did he carry out a comprehensive field study of people and their customs, but he was also able to facilitate workshops on basic video production for young workers that were interested in learning new skills.
Alejandro is our very first friend from a long list that grows by the day. We hope that the experience he takes back with him will nourish his continuing work, and above all, we hope to having him back in Necoclí.
